NCE 5240207 UTP Universal Throttle Panel

The NCE and TTX UTP is a cost effective method to add walk around capability to your layout. The UTP's four RJ-12 connectors are wired in parallel with two on the front of the panel and two on the rear of the UTP. The cab bus can be daisy chained from one UTP to the next UTP using the rear RJ-12 connectors.

The modular cables used to connect the command station to the first and subsequent UTP panels must be wired straight through, meaning pin 1 of one connector must be connected to Pin 1 of the other connector. The modular cable used for the Cab Bus is NOT telephone cable wiring.

If your layout requires a Cab Bus longer than 30 feet, we highly recommend adding extra power to the Cab Bus at 30 foot intervals. The UTP has a 5.5/2.5mm jack on the back. The center pin is [+] and the sleeve is [-]. A power supply such as the NCE P114 will plug directly into a UTP or a power supply in the range of 12-14vdc/0.5-1.0 amps.

Make sure to cut the circuit trace marked with an X on top of the UTP circuit board when you add a power supply.

A T1 [0.100inch dia.] LED can be installed on the UTP. Solder the LED tot he bottom of the UTP PC board. Leave enough length on the LED to bend the LED over and fit through the center hole of the UTP front panel. Use a 1K1/4watt resistor in the two holes marked "1K".
