PSX Flashes D6 LED on Start up

Posted by on Jul 8, 2015 in Blog, Tips DCC Components, Tony's Tips |

Hi Guys,

On power up, one PSX always flashes a brief D6 led before normal D7 comes on.  This happens with or without load or locos on that power district. Otherwise system operates well. Purposeful short functions and recovers normally. Is this a concern? Thank You, Larry Kedes

Hi Larry,

Not a problem. When first turned on, the PSX assumes there is a short on the track and has the output off (D6 is then on). Once it has successfully run through its power up routine and powered up the layout, the output will then be on and D6 will be off. This is the short D6 flash that you are seeing.
