Tortoise Buddy Throw Return
Hi Guys, You walked me through the installation of a Tortoise Buddy, & all is well, but I have an issue with it. When power is turned on the turnout always throws to the clear position. Is this normal? Can the tortoise buddy be programmed to just keep the turnout in the same position it was before when power comes on? A quick short anywhere in the mainline containing the reversing turnout causes the t.b. to throw the turnout back to clear. I thought the T.B. operated only when the trigger rail was powered, so I assume the short causes the T.B. to react to a power on situation. Thanks.............Bob M.
Bob:
- The Tortoise Buddy does not remember it's previous state.
- It defaults to clear at power up unless the Throw input is active.
- The Tortoise Buddy is meant to be inexpensive so it only has basic functions.
- If you really need the memory function, you need to use a Hare.
- This will directly replace the Tortoise Buddy but will add the memory function.
