1. Read the Instructions that came with the Crane.
  2. The Crane has a 14 step Lenz decoder. Select the Crane's address - the factory set it as 08, then select 28 speed steps or for Digitrax press SEL/SET so that the left numbers (Crane address) flash. Press FUNC/F0 so that the right numbers flash. Turn the right throttle knob so that the last digit is 2 (i.e. if display read 13, it should now read 12).
  3. To raise or lower the boom, set F0 to OFF, and F1 to ON. The yellow LED will blink slowly. If the direction is set FORWARD, the boom will Raise when the throttle is turned on. If the direction switch is set to REVERSE, the boom will lower.
  4. To raise or lower the hook, set F0 and F1 to ON. The yellow LED will stay on solid. If the direction switch is set FORWARD, the hook wil raise when the throttle is turned. If the direction switch is set REVERSE, the hook will lower.
  5. To swing the cab, set F0 to ON, and F1 to OFF. The yellow LED will blink fast. If the direction switch is set FORWARD, the cab will turn clockwise when the throttle is turned. If the direction switch is set REVERSE, the cab will turn counterclockwise. Note that the clutch lever on the side of the chassis must be in the UP position - it clicks into place. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN THE CAB BY HAND IF THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED - YOU WILL DAMAGE IT. The cab may not turn immediately, but will start in a second or so. REMEMBER TO DISENGAGE THE CLUTCH WHEN YOU ARE DONE OR IF YOU INTEND TO MOVE THE CRANE BY RAIL OR PUT IT IN ITS BOX.
  6. To activate the optional accessory plug on the cab front, set F0 and F1 to OFF. The yellow LED will turn off. If the direction switch is set FORWARD, the accessory will turn ON when the throttle is turned. If the direction switch is set REVERSE, the accessory will turn OFF. This socket is rated at 250mA.
  7. The decoder address can be changed following the standard program instructions.
  8. A Kadee #17 coupler furnished by Tony's works on this crane in the existing pocket.
