Overland has been known for decades for their exceptional brass models, but it takes DCC and sound to really bring these highly detailed models to life. In this particular installation, we used Soundtraxx Tsunami2.

In the image above, you can see that all of the essential components are secured to the top of the tender. The two wires coming from the frame are the tender truck pickups. Like many brass steam locomotives, this one is setup in such a way that the locomotive provides one side of the electrical pickup, and the tender provides the other side.

In order to connect the locomotive to the tender, a 6 pin micro connector (modified to only have 5 connections) was used. A piece of brass was removed from the front of the tender in order to safely tuck this plug into the tender during locomotive operation.
