In November of 2010, the first SD60E locomotive rolled out of Norfolk Southern's Altoona shop complex. Since then, over 100 of these rebuilds have been completed and placed in service. Three of them received special commemorative paint schemes to honor veterans and first responders. Completing the trifecta of special schemes, this month Athearn has released the Go Rail SD60E #6963!

Athearn has proven what they are capable of in terms of detail and model construction. Their rendition of the SD60E is incredibly well detailed and feels solid in your hands. Check out all of the plumbing and conduit on the underframe!

The paint and printing is vibrant, sharp, and accurate to the prototype. That lime green adds a great color pop! The detail doesn't stop at the underframe, either. The hood, cab, and roof all feature meticulous prototype detailing.

With the option of Tsunami2 DCC Sound, these locomotives sound just as good as they look.

We have plenty of these and other road numbers of the SD60E available!
