Digitrax Duplex Throttles
Hi Guys, I am interested in purchasing several Digitrax UT6 throttles; UT6D Duplex Radio, and/or UT6DE Duplex. I currently have a Digitrax Zephyr DCS52 DCC system. Question - What is the difference between the 3 handheld throttles. Also, do I need a Loconet LNWI WiFi Interface, or can I plug the remote throttles into the back of the Zephyr where it denotes Loconet? I had a LNWI Interface that we used to connect with Engine Driver on Smartphones and I liked the ability to do it while not plugged in. Alas, I lost the LNWI in a flood from Hurricane Ida and checking to see if I really need to replace it………Bob F.
- The difference is the "D" stands for "Duplex" Radio functionality
- "DE" designates a Duplex throttle designated for use in Europe [EU communication protocols]
- You can use UT6/UT6D and/or DT602/DT602D anywhere else
- A UT6D/DT602D throttle is tether free and does NOT need to be connected to a LocoNet panel [UP7]
- Note the UP7 when connected to a PS14 can recharge UT6D and DT602D throttles when equipped with a Digitrax battery pack
- Using UT6D and/or DT602D radio throttles requires a UR93
- You only need a LNWI if you want to use smartphones as throttles
