Starting in 1969, Montreal Locomotive Works, a subsidiary of ALCo, built the MLW M630 for Canadian Pacific, PGE, and the British Columbia Railway. These big six axle diesels were similar to ALCo's own C630 but with a Canadian flare that made them unique.
