Hi guys. I have a Walthers digital turntable. I also have a digital sound unit with turntable sounds that I operate with a push button. What I want to do is have the sound unit operate when the turntable is activated. The turntable is self contained and I have no desire to tamper with it. So, I would like to cut a current detector with a built in on off switch into the turntable power leads (it runs off a power pack) so that when the detector senses the turntable operating it will turn on the sound unit, thus replacing the push button. Do you have a device that will do the job?    Carl S.

Hi Carl, The DCC Specialties Block Watcher will do exactly what you want. It will detect current and turn a switch on. The switch is completely isolated and will switch AC, DC, or DCC and is good for up to 30 volts and 1 ampere. You can also calibrate the trip current level so it only responds to the actual movement of the turntable.
