MRC Prodigy Advance Programming Read-Back Error: September 30, 2004

Posted by on Jan 16, 2014 in Tips DCC Systems, Tony's Tips | 0 comments

Update Sep 30, 2004 afternoon: We have received new stock of MRC Prodigy Advance with updated software.

Upon additional testing of our Sept 22nd Prodigy Advanced delivery we encountered difficulty in programming readback. We were able to program (Write) info to decoders successfully but were unable, about 80% of the time, to read-back (READ).

We contacted MRC to inform them. They confirmed our findings and discovered a software glitch which has been corrected. If you have received a new MRC Prodigy Advance recently or earlier this month then your system is affected. You can return to MRC for the software upgrade, there may be a nominal fee:

Model Rectifier Corp
Prodigy Upgrade
80 Newfield Ave
Edison, NJ 08837

Tony’s returned the Prodigy Advance we had in stock for upgrade. We expect to be restocked by Monday, October 4, 2004. All our future stock will have the upgrade incorporated. Update: we were restocked today, September 30, 2004. All our stock has the upgrade incorporated.

If you have or will purchase a Prodigy Advance from another dealer you should be wary that you have the upgrade!
