Unique Quantum Revolution-A/U In Stock

Buy Quantum Revolution

The unique -A/U format gives modelers additional installation sound decoder options.

Revolution-A/U

Most installers like to use the Revolution-A (Atlas format) decoder for installation in many of the popular diesel locomotives that have the Atlas design motor mount tabs. These tabs secure the loco's analog circuit board. The -A format replaces the decoder and snaps on to the same tabs.

Revolution-A

Sometimes the loco is not long enough to accommodate the -A format decoder. Prior to the introduction of the -A/U, installers used generic wired decoders but in most cases had to cut off the mounting tabs and fashion some other less than ideal method to secure decoder, like double back tape that acts as an insulator and traps the heat. The -A/U eliminates this mounting problem and also provides for better ventilation, reducing heating problems.

There are now 4 special formats for Quantum Revolution options.

Note: The soon to be released HO Atlas HH660 switcher is an example of the specialized environment that requires the -A/U format. Their Gold locomotive version with DC/DCC sound features (ext. link) the Quantum Revolution-A/U.
