Good news for owners of QSI sound equipped locos from Atlas, BLI and
Life-Like.
The Quantum Programmer is finally shipping.
List $99.95, Tony's pricing.
With about 200,000 such locos in circulation with QSI, many modelers will
now have the opportunity to continually upgrade their locos' performance
and features by using the Quantum Programmer and dowloading the latest
software. In addition, the free Quantum "CV Manager" PC assisted
programming software will afford PC users the opportunity to program and
customize all the CVs graphically and effortlesly.
The Quantum Programmer also supports "Operations Mode Programming"
programming on the main. This makes it ideal for speed matching locos.
Important notes:
- The Quantum Programmer is only compatible with the Q1a Upgrade Chip (ROM).
This Q1a chip has only been used by the manufacturers in the most recent loco
releases. See list of OEM locos with Q1a. All prior releases can only be upgraded by
installing the Q1a chip.
- The Q1a Upgrade Chip and files due to the limited space (4 MB) do not
allow the users to "cut and paste" sound files.
The cut and paste features will be available using the Quantum Programmer with the soon to be released Q2 Series coming in the Quantum Revolution and also future OEM
releases.

An installation CD is furnished with the Programmer but the user is advised
to check the QSI Solutions website
often for the latest revisions.
Important note : QSI Programmer is not compatible with Windows 98 or earlier versions.
