After much hurrah and a 6 month delay Digitrax has released the HO Kato format sound decoders. We are in the process of evaluating the sound decoder and will post a review in several days.

For those who may have placed orders note the following:

Previously Digitrax's sound decoder was originally intended to be a "One Size Fits All" item with integrated lighting. Now, this is not the case, there are 3 different part numbers, see below. If you want the integrated lighting you need the combo.

If you have an existing Digitrax sound decoder order with Tony's, PLEASE contact us by phone or e-mail to advise us that you would like to CHANGE AN EXISTING ORDER and let us know which sound you'd like.

The choices are ONLY for these Kato HO locos:

AC4400: SDH104K1(A)& FN04K1 Sound & Functions Combo
SD38-2  SDH104K1(B)& FN04K1 Sound & Functions Combo
F40PH   SDH104K1(C)& FN04K1 Sound & Functions Combo

With this Digitrax release there are now four major manufacturers competing for the modelers' sound dollars: Digitrax, ESU LokSound, Model Rectifier MRC, Soundtraxx. Eventually there will be five when QSI releases their aftermarket offering - Quantum Revolution.

Well, we will have plenty of choices ... how are we going to decide what to buy?
