Lenz to Release USB Computer Interface

Buy Lenz

January release is planned for new Lenz USB Computer Interface LI101-USB. Pricing is not yet available. Here is a copy of their news bulletin.

Lenz GmbH is proud to announce the LI101-USB, our new USB-Interface to XpressNet.

Today more and more computers are coming with a USB interface and not an RS-232 interface. Therefore we have decided to produce an interface designed to work in this evolving PC environment. We will continue to produce the LI101F-232 for those uses that desire a high speed serial interface.

The USB interface allows us to provide a more fully integrated computer solution that includes drivers that range from a simple client to a full TCP-IP server.

LI101-USB

- Computer Interface for Digital plus Systems
- USB and XpressNet connections
- plug-and-play installation (initially for Windows2000 and Windows XP)
- USB - and XpressNet connection cables enclosed
- CD with driver, Software and product information

We are planing to release the LI101-USB interface in January 2005.

Tech Tip - How to make the Lenz USB Interface work with Mac OS X

Hi Tony,

I thought I 'd share how you can make the new Lenz USB interface work with the new betaversion of MacDigital and Mac OS X. Two easy steps and you are ready to go.

1) Download and install the FREE Mac OS-X FTDIUSBSerialDriver from ftdichip.com (http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/FT232-FT245Drivers.htm)

2) Download and install the new betversion of MacDigital (http://www.abbinkserver.de/index.php?sel_lang=de&lid=0306&topic=001). The MacDigital wbesite is in German but that's easy enough to figure out. Just put in your name and email address and you will be emailed a link where you can download the program, which you can use for 45 days.

Regards,

Johannes Neuer
