Kato N Scale AC4400s Arrive, DCC Ready

The new Kato N Scale AC4400CWs in UP colors have arrived. A great looking and well crafted model, ran well at slow speed right out of the box. As Kato did with the HO version, the other roadnames of this release will follow in about a month. The UP versions are offered by Tony's with a $5 surcharge to reflect UP's licensing fee which is currently being challenged in court by Athearn & Lionel. Hopefully justice will triumph.

We determined the Digitrax DN163K1a is the decoder to use although it was a tight fit. Suggest backing off the two frame screws a single turn before swapping the boards and re-tightening after the decoder is in place.
