MRC has upgraded and issued new part numbers for Steam Sound Decoders. Pricing has increased for HO version. Backorders will be shipped this week and are upgraded units at previously posted prices.

MRC RELEASES SECOND GENERATION OF SOUND DECODERS

MRC announces yet another way for DCC users to maximize on the realism of their layouts. The new HO and G gauge Synchronized Steam Sound Decoder come complete with onboard speaker, and are loaded with 12 assorted sounds including synchronized steam chuff, three whistles (two American and one European), two air compressors at idle, blower hiss, fire box door, and coal shoveling. And as an added bonus, all of these sounds will randomly play as the locomotive is idle - you don’t have to do a thing! The decoders feature F1-F12 functions, 2 or 4 digit addressing, advanced consisting, and programming on the main. They work with 14,28 or 128 speed steps for smoother speed control and are compatible with most DCC systems. G gauge decoder has an 8 amp capacity while the HO decoder has 1.5 amp capacity.
