The long wait for the 2-8-4 Berkshires (buy) has been worth it. Now, C&O and Nickel Plate, HO modelers have a fine model of this impressive, unique prototype. Some are still available from this run otherwise another production run is coming in April with more choices.

The Berkshire furthers the Proto 2000 Heritage line of quality, fine detail and smooth running steam locomotives.

The unit is DCC ready with the NMRA 8 Pin socket in the tender and will accept many formats of DCC decoders with the NMRA plug. The larger circuit board in tender is removed for DCC.
