PCM Reading T1 Pics
Nick Kulp has assembled this for the PCM Reading Ts. Thanks Nick!
I purchased a LokProgrammer and a LokSound 3.5XL decoder from you a month ago. I first wanted to say thanks for the great service and info on the decoder and programmer. My purpose in this email is to make you aware of the issue of the Reading T1 sound file that is being distributed by PCM and in the T1 decoders. Unfortunately, the sound file is the exact file ESU is using in the N&W 4-8-4 and it is grossly wrong.
The good news is that the Lok Programmer makes it rectifiable. I have access to accurate sound files of the correct Reading T1s. Both the passenger and freight whistles are on a recording of the restoration of the 2100. I have experimented with the programmer and I have been successful in replacing the incorrect whistles with the correct ones. I am also planning to replace the "idiot" conversing with the "dispatcher" over a radio about protecting the crossing.
The Reading T1 file is attached. [download here - 881 kB]
The freight whistle is very close so I didn't modify that. The new project file includes the T1 generator, compressor, bell, and the G5 chime whistle that was used on some T1's in passenger service. T1 2128 is one that went to Fort Indiantown Gap, near Jonestown, Pa during WWII and Korea.
