Outlined specifications

  • Self contained stepping power supply and DCC power booster in one unit
  • Input 120V AC, output 8 Amps DCC 168 VA, no auto reverse feature
  • DCC input : 2 screw terminals
  • DCC track power output : 2 screw terminals
  • Output voltage adjustment : 18 - 22 V DCC
    • This may be high for HO and N applications since this is beta unit, voltage can probabably be lowered for factory production units.
  • Fault response/protection : instantaneous
    • Units starts with at least 6 A incandescent load in about 3 seconds, fault restart instantaneous.
  • Nominal track voltage drops : 1 V for 1.5 A, 2.5 V for about 5.5 A
Unit is contained in the black box with internal cooling fan, has power on/off switch and power on and fault lights LEDs.

Initial impressions look very favorable, more testing will continue over the next several weeks.
