Prodigy Advance Recall Stack Memory Procedure
While working with the Prodigy Advance DCC system I tried to store the addresses of a few of my locomotives in the recall stack. The instruction say that the system will remember up to 5 addresses when you power off. The procedure in the manual states that if you turn off the system with the on/off switch it will remember the 5 addresses. If you power off by disconnecting power the system will revert to the previous stack memory. I could not get the recall addresses to store using the instructions in the manual. I checked MRC and got the following procedure on how to store the recall data.
A. Set up the recall stack with the handheld cab. Remove unwanted addresses by holding the DEL key and add with the LOCO-ENTER key sequence. Up to five addresses can be stored when power is turned off.
B. Once all data is in-unplug the cord from the handheld with power on. The display should blink "SAV DATA" very briefly if the recall data has been changed.
C. Wait a couple of seconds and plug the handheld cord back in. Check the stack, it should be the same as it was when you unplugged the handheld.
D. Power down the base unit.
E. When you power up again the recall stack should be as it was when you turned power off.
Setting up the recall stack lets you run the same set of locomotives each time you power up. Even if you add locomotives while operating, if you do not disconnect the handheld cab the system will recall the old set of locomotives the next time you turn power on. You can added and use more than five addresses to the recall stack, but only five will be can be saved with power off.
