Lenz Releases "Power 3" Power Backup Module

We are pleased to announce the release of our Power 3 module designed for S scale and larger models.

The Power-3 module is designed as a power backup module for our Gold Maxi line of decoders.

Our Gold series decoders are unique in that they have the ability to read the DCC signal even when on dirty track.  For this feature to work you need to have backup power in your locomotive.  The Power 3 module provides this backup power and easily installs with just inserting 3 wires into the Gold Maxi's screw terminals.

On outdoor railroads dirt and track oxidation can seriously impact reliable operations especially for slow speed movements.  The Power 3 keeps the decoder powered and allows the decoder to continue to receive nearly 100% of the packets transmitted.  We have found the Power 3 to be extremely effective for locomotives which can move under load at 5 volts.  For higher voltage locomotives a set of small batteries is an effective solution.

For those desiring Direct Wireless Operations using on-board battery operation we are pleased to report that The Gold Maxi works extremely well with CVP's AirWire™* system using the QSI Solutions GWire™ receiver. This provides the exceptional performance of a gold decoder for AirWire users.  We will release installation instructions for this option on our WWW site shortly.

We will be demonstrating all of these options at the Narrow Gauge Convention in Portland, Maine and will also be holding an open house for our Garden railroad on Sunday September 2nd.
