Steve has sent us this note on the N Scale PCM E7s w/Sound:
"All of the club members who own the N scale PCM's E's have changed CV 63 (engine sound volme) from the default setting of 64 to 45 because they found them too loud. Also as a note. When you do this, the decoder chip drops the motor controls (all functions work except for motor/movement). In order to correct this you must assign a new address to the decoder. (best to do this on the Pg program mode on the programming track vs the Po mode on the mainline). The club members have found it works well to change CV 63 while the decoder is still in the 03 default and then assign a new address after making any changes to default CV values."

NOTE: It has come to our attention that some of these locomotives have experienced an intermittent running problem. Should this happen with your loco, check the gauging of the wheels and look for loose connection from the 4 truck wires that connect to the decoder. More here ...
