The new Kato GP-35's have arrived with a small surprise! At least for this loco, Kato has returned to the older pickup design which conveys track power from the truck side frames via wires to the loco circuit board. This method is better than the new design.

As described in Tony's "Popular Locos Some Flaws", Kato's newer Method used for the C44, SD40-2, RS-2, which incorporates sliding contacts, has proven unreliable.
