The Digital Sound Decoder (DSD) is a state-of-the-art module providing the benefits of today's DCC technology with the addition of high quality, digital onboard sound.

Each DSD installs inside your locomotive and integrates a full featured digital sound system, lighting effects and a DCC decoder into a single, miniature electronic module.

This DSD is designed specifically to drop into the Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0. The speaker is already installed, so that even those uncomfortable with simple decoder installations can have both digital control and SoundTraxx Digital Sound. This DSD is designed to 'plug and play' - simply pop the tender open, remove the DCC, plug on the circuit board and plug the DSD into the socket. Replace the tender shell and be prepared to experience the best in digital sound with no fuss, no bother and no degree in audio engineering required! The 1" speaker is already connected to the circuit board and designed for optimum sound quality and volume. We've taken all the hard work out of sound installations, by providing the speaker already installed and baffled for best results! Now anyone can install DSD!

This drop-in place decoder is reasonably priced at MSRP $155.00. The SoundTraxx DSD is compatible with NMRA Standards and Recommended Practices. The SoundTraxx DSD is manufactured in the USA.
